My New Toy

I have been saving all my tip money since the first of April and the total I had saved was
$191.oo, I wasn't sure what I had wanted to buy with it, I thought what about the New Green and yellow Jazz jersey's that I wanted very badly, and everytime I thought about getting it I thought other wise. Then i got to thinkin how i had wanted the new Ipod touch back in june but knew I coudn't afford it. But that all changed right after I counted all the money up. Well I was a little short but with a little talkin with Reese I was on my way to Costco to purchase my new toy. I am so excitedd to have it, I just have alot of learning to do on it. Oh and as for the Jersey my wonderful Daughter and her wonderful Dad, got it for me for Chrismas without me even knowing, They are the best.

It's A Boy!!!

Thats right Reese and Beccie went to the Doctor this morning and found out that they are having a boy. His name will be Gregory Reese Nielsen. We are so excited I can't even explain. It just feels so real now. We were able to watch the video of the ultra sound and see every inch of him including the little thing that makes him a boy, if you know what I mean. ;) LOL. Watching that video made me even more excited to meet this little guy and to hold him, I just don't know what I am going to do till he gets here. we have pics of the ultra sound so hopefully i'll post them soon. Now I need to go shopping! :) BYE!

Week Number 14

Yep that's right, Beccie is 14 weeks into the pregnancy. She has been feeling great and doing awesome with the whole thing. Reese Jay is so excited to be a daddy. It's so cute to hear these two talk about the baby, they will make awesome parents, (and of course I will make an awesome grandma!) Kaylene is excited to be an aunt and I know she will be great at it.
We have a big day coming up next week when we all find out the gender of the baby, we are very excited to be able to say he or she. I have a feeling it's a girl, I keep saying her, but whatever it is I can't wait for it to be here. I'll post next week about HE or SHE!

September

I have noticed that it's been awhile since i last posted. So I will try to catch up here. September has been pretty busy. I am in charge of the young women's sports for our stake and I have been busy doing that, we are playing volleyball right now, we have had only 2 games so far this season and still have 5 more to go. I hope I can make it :) only kidding I reallly like my calling it's alot of fun. The adult women of our stake have started playing volleyball as well. I had a ton of fun at our first game and can't wait till we play our second one tomorrow night. Yes we did win our first game but that was cuz the team we were playing had to forfeit, but i have to say I really think we make a good team we play very well together and we have alot of fun.

Kaylene and I went to the Fair on Thursday Sept. 17th and had a blast, we ate alot of junk food and bought a couple of things there. We were able to see the Bear show Here is the picture of the bears and I promice they look so much bigger in person.

Then we caught the Crocodile show.

This is a picture of Kaylene holding a baby croc. Check out her new Shades!!!

We had a great time and I am so glad we went. We are already talking about going next year.

For the past couple of days I have been putting alot of time into my Stampin' Up stuff to get ready our first ever Stamp Camp. I am looking so forward to the camp. I think it will be alot of fun and the projects that we are doing are so cool. I can't wait. I hope to take pictures of the camp and i'll post them later. This is a picture of the projects that we are doing.

Grand baby update. The happy parents to be are doing great, they just went to the doctor yesterday and had another ultra sound and the baby is moving like crazy. I hope to have the pictures real soon so I can post them. Kaylene was able to go to this appointment and she totally loved it. She said the baby was so cute, I guess it can be cute at this stage. She is so excited to an aunt and I think she'll make a good one too.

Well besides working a ton that's pretty much it. I'll try to do better keeping you all up to date.

Cabin Trip

This past Labor day weekend we went to Joe's Valley Reservoir with a very special family The Snows. We had so much fun just hangin around the cabin playing games and visiting, we even got a game of softball going in the front yard. We had a riot playing night games and eating junk food. I love this trip every year we take it. We got to talking about how long it's been since we started going and we decided that it had been 10 years of going to the cabin. We absolutely love this tradition of going and hope we continue for many more years to come. I love the idea that next Labor day we will be taking our first grand child with us to the cabin. I can't wait!!! Heres pictures of our trip.

My New Title

Yes it's true I have been given a new title and it's GRANDMA!

Reese and Beccie came by last night and told us the awesome news that they will be having a baby at the end of March, first of April. I was so happy I started crying like a baby.
I layed in bed last night thinking to myself that when this baby comes i will almost be 41 years old, and I thought wow that's kinda young for the Grandma title, but then I thought how lucky I will be that when he/she is old enought to go outside to play that I will still be young enough to be able to go out to play as well and even play some one on one basketball with them. So then I said to myself, yeah I am ready for this.
I am so happy for Reese and Beccie and can't wait to meet my little grandbaby!

Park City

Mandi, Kaylene and I left last Sunday for three wonderful days in Park City. We were way excited to get there and start our vacation, that we left at 11 am on Sunday and arrived at The Lodge by noon. The room was georgeous. It had everything that we needed and more. We did alot of game time at the table. We spent the day on monday with the, all day unlimited passes to the Alpine slide and coaster and Zipline. It was such a blast. Tuesday we were at the Outlet stores finding some great deals (well some of us did), after the stores we went and watched a movie then it was back to the condo for Nail polishing time and more games. Beccie even surprised us that night and came up for a couple of hours. It was so much fun.
We had a great time in Park City, it just ended way to fast. I really enjoy the company of Kaylene and Mandi. We all get along so wonderful, and the time we spend together is the best. We laugh alot and share so much, I truely cherish the time I get with these girls. You ladies are awesome.
My Laptop with the photos is at the Laptop doctor so when I get it back I'll post the pics and so many others that I have promised to post.

My awesome week ahead!!

We just got back today from a great weekend of camping with our best friends Ryan, Mandi, Alex and Darek Wood. We had so much fun hanging with them all weekend and playing games and just relaxing and not worrying about anything. I actually took my camera this time and took some great pics so I will be posting those later. We are so looking forward to August when we get the opportunity to go with them again.

Now onto my fabulous week ahead. I can't believe that I have packed so much into the next seven days (plus,) but I have, and I can't wait! So.....On...

Monday- I have to work 9-2, but then when I am off Kaylene and I are going into Salt Lake to check out the new location of the Disney Outlet store. I know to alot of you that's not a big deal, but to us we find pleasure in this.

Tuesday-Again I have to work 10 to 2, but then I have to come home and clean up cuz Kaylene and I are off to an early dinner to Applebees so we can get to the E center for the American Idols Concert. We have been waiting for this day for so long. After the concert we will be hangin there to meet them. I really hope I get to meet Scott!

Wednesday- I have the day off cuz I'll have probably been at the E center till way late and need to sleep in. Then Kaylene and I are planning on going to see The Harry Potter movie at the gate way, then do some shopping after. I can never go to the Gateway and not go to Bath and Body Works and the Candy Factory.

Thursday- I am off cuz it's my normal day off and I will be spending the day at Lagoon with my good friends Russ, Patti, Chelsea, Ciera and Kaylee Snow. I think we were doing rides in the morning then the afternoon in Lagoona beach! This should be a fun day. I can't wait!

Friday- I have to work from 10-2, then this will prbably be the best day ever, cuz I will be picking up my good friend Tammy Clayton and we will be heading out to the Usauna Ampitheater for the George Strait Concert. OMGosh! Life is good when George Strait is involved. Gotta love this man. Well I do!

Saturday- This is the day that I will spend with my hubby before I start packing and leave him for three days for our trip to.....

Sunday- PARK CITY!!!!! Mandi, Kaylene and I are going to spend three wonderful days in Park City! I can't tell you how excited I am for this.

So that's my week in review and all I can say is BRING IT ON!!!

My Daughter!!!

On Wednesday Kaylene and I got off work and headed to into Salt Lake to the Gateway. We did our shopping then headed home, on our way home we were listening to KBULL 93 and all of a sudden Kaylene heard the sound of the contest that they were having so she texted them and you had to be the 930th text in. So she texted and we didn't think any thing of it. Then all of a sudden she says KBULL is calling me, she answers the phone and she was the 930th text! The contest was to pick a concert between Kenny Chesney and George Strait and then they would flip a coin and she would say either heads or tails, and if she got it right, she would get the tickets. Well the DJ didn't know how to do the contest so he said Kenny tickets if it lands on heads and George tickets if it was tails. Long story short she won George Strait concert tickets.

She gets off the phone and I can hardly believe that she had just won tickets to a concert that I was dying to go to.

So then the next day she tells me that she really isn't a fan of George Strait and that she thinks it would be more fun for me if I just took a friend with me. I thought WOW what a sweet girl she is to win these tickets and then just hands them over and not go.

So on July 17th Tammy Clayton and I will be going to the concert. I am so exited I can hardly stand it. I have been a George Strait fan for a long time, and it's hard to believe that I am actually going to see him. I will take tons of pics and post them later. I am just so excited that I wanted to tell you about it now.

Nielsen Campout

We just got home from our first campout of the 2009 season. I am sorry that I don't have pictures to post but half way to Lodgepole campground i had realized that I had forgotten my camera, which made me very up set, but I had to get over it and just had to tell myself that we have 2 more camping trips that I will be able to take pictures. So I got over it.

We pulled into our favorite spot at the lodgepole campground and the fun began. We unpacked and then we just vegitated. Kaylene and I took our bikes with us this time and it was so fun just to ride around the campground. They came in very handy when we had to get to the bathroom fast.

It was pretty cold there in the evening so we snuggled close to the fire. I didn't pack our sleeping bags cuz I really didn,t think it would be cold enough for them. Boy was I wrong. At one point in our trailer it was 52 degrees. Yeah it was a little chilly. I had packed alot of blankets so thankfully we had those. I will not be making that mistake again on the next trip, I will be taking Sleeping bags and Pants(yeah I took capri's, silly me)

Saturday we took a drive up in the mountains (and again I got mad cuz I didn't have my camera,oh well)and then down around Strawberry Resivoir where we got out and checked some spots for future fishing days. Kaylene and I went down to touch the water and boy it was cold. I was glad that we weren't planning on water activities this time.

We got back to camp and I built a fire( that is my favorite thing to do up camping) we hung out there. Kaylene and I played on our DS's and reese fell asleep on the table bench( which is his favorite thing to do camping).

We had a great time and can't wait to go in 2 weeks when we take our good friends Mandi and Ryan and family up with us. Hopefully I will remember my camera!

I Lied

I totally lied in my last post, this is the video I took not Kaylene. Sorry its so jumpy aroundy but you know when you hear Taylor sing you just gotta dance. Not that I was just others around me. :)

Taylor Swift

Kaylene and I were one of the lucky ones to get tickets to go see Taylor Swift in concert back on May 26th. It was a way good concert. I had heard that she sucked live, but I've got to tell ya, "NOT!!!" She was amazing. When she danced in the rain on stage it was so fun to see. I have seen it in her video but to see it on stage WOW! Thanks Kaylene for getting the tickets!
This is one of my favorite songs of hers. So thanks to Kaylene she took video of it. So here it is. Love Story

The Highlight Of My Week

I found out about a month ago that my favorite author, Mary Higgins Clark would be coming to Layton on April 21st, so of course I was all excited to go. I asked Kaylene if she wanted to go and surprisingly enough, she said yes. I have read most of her books, so I was very excited to meet her. So last Tuesday Kaylene and I along with some of our dear friends headed to Northridge High School in Layton. The paper said she would be speaking at 7 pm, so if you wanted a good seat to come early, and the doors opened at 6:30 pm. So we did, we got there about 5:45 and it was amazing how many people were already there. So we made our way through, past the line that was to buy her book.( I was smart and had already purchased mine at Costco) to our spot on the stairs and waited for the doors to open. At 6:30 the doors opened and it was a mad dash for the front row. We got to our seats and I could hardly stand the wait. Finally out she came with her daughter (who is also a mystery writer) and everyone of us gave them a standing ovation. They talked for an hour and then they announced that they would be signing books so out we went to get in line. If you notice, the end of the line ends pretty much behind the guy in the white shirt way over there against the wall, there is just a couple of people behind him. Now from where he is standing the authors are almost straight across. Yeah it was crazy! It took us almost two hours to get up to the table where they were. But hey we were having fun talking and watching all these people. But Finally we were getting close. Mary Higgins is the one in blue, with her daughter Carol

After 2 hours it was our turn. We talked for just a short minute and then we got our picture taken with them. See the stairs to the right? Yeah, that's where we sat to wait to get in. These ladies were so nice to talk too. They even thanked us for waiting for hours to get to them. I was so glad that I was able to do this.
If you are ever looking for a great mystery book to read, I would suggest you pick up Mary Higgins Clark. You won't be disappointed. People ask me which one is my favorite book of hers and I have to say every time, "Before I Say Goodbye". I am almost done with her new book and I have to say it is very good.

My Day Off!

Wow 2 posts in one day hope it's not to much for you, but i have to post about this.

So this morning I took the day off from work and went to see the Good Things Utah Show with what I thought was going to be the Relief Society, but alot of the ladies were out of town so, it ended up just being the three of us, Tammy Clayton, Laurie Evertsen and Me. The show was good and we had alot of fun. We each won a gift from the trivia questions that we answered corectly, so it pays to go to the show. My question was which one of the hosts worked at a Mcdonalds? Who know's this?... Oh yeah Tammy Clayton did, so she wispered it to me and i raised my hand (the only one that did) and answered Angie! Yep that's right I won! Thanks Tammy, your the best!( How do you know this stuff? Your not a stalker are you? Just kidding)

After I got home from the show, Kaylene and I went to see the new Hannah Montana Movie. Now I am not much of a Hannah Montana fan, but I really liked this movie, and I am so glad I went to see it. And boy was that theater just full of little girls, but it was worth it. So if you want to see a good, easy going, movie that's a good choice.

My Girl!

I was looking through some of my pictures on my computor and came across some of the ones that Holly had done for us and these are just some of my favorites, So I thought I would Share.
By the look on Kaylene's face that water is darn cold. What a trooper!

2. What I create will be just for you.

3. It WILL be done this year.

4. You have no CLUE what it’s going to be … it may be cards, a bookmark, something delicious or a complete surprise to you (and me!) … who knows?

So last night the Larrabee's (beccie's parents) invited us over to play canasta. I have to say I liked it. It's pretty fun. Plus I had her dad as my partner and he is a prety good.

8 IS GREAT!!!!!!

So, as soon as I bogged this morning about my appointment that I had yesterday,I got a call from the doctors office and my results came back and I got the best news ever, my c125 count was an 8. YES!!!! Last year it was a 9. I almost cried when they gave me the results. Now I totally don't understand all the terms of this test, but the blood test is the only way that they can detect that the cancer I had, has come back. So back in November of 2003 when they found out that I had cancer by running this test, my white cell count was an 88, and a normal count is 34, yeah i was in serious trouble. But now I AM AN 8!( you can't tell that i am excited or anything. Right?) She said, I am way below normal and that is terrific. I am so happy right now, I can hardly sit still. Sorry for going on an on about this, but this means alot to me and I wanted to share this with my friends! :)

5 years and counting

Yesterday i had my annual cancer check up, at the Huntsmen Cancer Institute. I had a blood test done and I won't get the results back till sometime today or tomorrow, but the doctor was happy that i reported no pain or bloating of my abdomin (sorry if I spelled that wrong)and after the awful exam that I had to endure, he said that everything looks great and that he'll see me next year. I am so blessed to be this healthy after such an ugly disease came into my life. I seriously can't wait for the day to come (which is in 10 more years) when they release me and tell me that I have beaten this thing. I pray everyday for that.

I am still here!

Hey There Everyone! I just wanted to get on and blog to say sorry to those of you that have come to my blog to see what in the world I have been up too, but to find that I haven't bogged in almost a month. But it has been a crazy month for me. This past week I have come down with a head cold and haven't been able to do very much. I am still in my cake decorating class and have been enjoying it very much. I did take some pictures of my cakes that i have done, and will post them later.
I took a good friend of mine out for her birthday, we went to see He's Just Not That Into You, we enjoyed the movie and the dinner to Applebees after wards and especially enjoyed each others company.
I was so excited last Friday when I got online and purchased our Disneyland tickets. We are so excited and can't wait till May gets here. We have been doing some other planning for the summer, we scheduled some camp outs, and other weekend getaways, and I just can't wait.
I am still working at Spanky's and totally loving my job. I mean where else could you work where you can laugh all day, have fun and love the people you work with. I love it! I just passed my 1st year mark at spanky's and I truely hope there will be many more years to come.
I have been called as the nursery leader in our ward and I am truely having a blast in there, I have missed 2 weeks due to a hospital visit that i had to make to a sick friend and then last week I was sick and didn't want to get my little ones sick, but i have missed them tremendously. They are so much fun to be around, they all have wonderful little spirits and I love to see thier cute little faces light up when we talk about Jesus and Heavenly Father. It always amazes me how much these 2 and 3 year olds already know about our Heavenly father and Jesus Christ. I love each and everyone of them so much. Another plus is that I have great helpers, Kaylene, Mandi Wood and now Allison Hamilton are just wonderful to have in there. I see each week how much they too, love these little ones and that just makes me so happy to have them. You guys are AWESOME!!!
Well thats all that is going on for now. I will post some pics later. Thanks for stopping by!

And There It Is!

Yep this is it! It's not perfect, but this is my first decorated cake from the class i am in. I had a few issues with it like, I had to make 2 cakes cause my first on didn't come out of the pan. After I tipped the pan over and saw that half my cake was still in the pan, I wanted to cry. I said a few choice words ( of course in my head) and got my composure back and grab all the ingrediants and started a new one. I only had an hour and a half to get it baked and cooled before class. Yeah my nerves were shot. But I got it made and headed to class. Then the teacher only gave us 20 minutes of class time to do anything with it. Oooh i was so mad. After all that, and I have to take it home to finish it. Well anyway I had a great time decorating it and, OH Yeah, it tastes good!

Eat Cake

On Tuesday I started this beginners cake decorating class over at Micheals with Kaylene and Mandi and I have to say I had alot of fun and learned quite a bit. I never knew the true chemistry of icing before and now I do, So I can't wait to try making it. I think the thing that freaks me out the most is the roses, yikes, i hope i can make them and that they turn out.We just went over a few things this week and next week we will actually get to decorate a cake, that makes me happy. So I will blog each week with my progress and pictures of my masterpieces. Stay tuned!

PICTOIMAGE

So Kaylene and I each got the nintendo DS for Christmas and we have been having a blast on them, and today i remembered that i had bought this game for us, which it would allow us to play each other through wireless conection, but i couldn't remember where i had placed it. So today after church i came home and looked for it and after just a few minutes i found in a random place still in the bag. So we pulled it out and played it. I have to tell you that we started playing it at 4 pm and we finally just put it down and its 9:30, yes 5 and a half hours later. we had so much playing it. You have to draw pictures and the other person has to guess what you are drawing and you go back and forth. It is so fun. Kaylene and I can't wait to get Mandi and Alex to join in the fun with us. I have to tell you this funny story, I had to draw the word fart and i laughed so hard i could hardly draw. kaylene thought i was drawing something else which made me laugh even harder. But really it's soooo much fun. So if you have a DS system and your looking for a fun game well there you go, PICTOIMAGE.

Cadet Nielsen

Well it's afficial, Reese Jay is now in the police academy. Today was his first day, he came by tonight to tell us of his first day of class and he seems to be very excited. I know he will do well in this field, this is what he has wanted to do since he was a youngster. I am so happy for him but at the same time I am a little worried. When he came by tonight, he was in his academy uniform with his hand cuffs he looked pretty cool and handsome, I wanted to take pictures but he was in a hurry, so I will get some another day and post them another time. Good Luck Reese Jay!

Happy New Year.

WOW! It's 2009. It's hard to believe! So I just noticed that its been over a month since I last blogged, sorry about that, life has just been so busy with work and family oh yeah and christmas. Our Christmas was great, Beccie made it home in time from North Carolina to have first Christmas with Reese Jay as a married couple and I was happy for that. We spent our Christmas Eve at the Larrabee home and that was a lot of fun. Christmas morning came and Kaylene and I both got our Nintendo DS' which we haven't been able to put down for a week now, we are having a blast with them.
Kaylene is such a sweet heart, but then again most of you know that already, but for a couple of weeks before Christmas she was hounding me to just open her gift that was for me right then, I told her that I wanted to wait for the big day. When the day came she said open mine first mom, so I told her that if it was that big i wanted to save it for the finale. So when it came time for me to open it I was so excited, I opened it to find the Disney desk calendar that i just love and she gets it for me every year, but then I lifted the tissue paper to find 2 tickets to Dancing with the Stars. OH MY GOSH!!!! Thats's what screamed. I could not believe that this sweet girl of mine went and spent that much money to get these tickets for her momma. She knew I wanted to go soooo bad but that I didn't want to spend the money to go. I love her so much she means the world to me. Well after I calmed down, i just couldn't believe that i was going to see Derek perform. He's my favorite.
We went Tuesday night and it was great. We saw Sharon and Julie there. It was so cute to see the way Kaylene reacted when Lance Bass came out she would scream then sit back and just gush over him, Yes she does know he is gay but that doesn't stop her. She says that if he would give her a chance she would totally change him. HA HA HA!
Well I hope all of you had a great Christmas and I wish you all the best in the New Year.
